Best perimenopause and menopause apps in 2026: an honest comparison

Updated October 15, 2026 · 3 min read · Written by Roman Suvorov, MenoShift

There is no single best menopause app — the right one depends on what you need: tracking and patterns, education, community, HRT reminders or fitness. We make MenoShift, so read this with that in mind; we've tried to be fair. In October 2026 a search of the US and UK App Store returned about 180 apps mentioning menopause or perimenopause; about half had no ratings at all. Below are the established ones and what each is actually for.

How we compared

We searched the App Store in the US and UK for eight common terms (perimenopause, menopause, menopause tracker, hot flashes and others) on 14 October 2026, kept apps clearly built for the menopause transition, and looked at what each focuses on, its rating count, and how it handles your data. Rating counts change daily — treat them as a rough signal of size, not quality.

General period trackers such as Flo and Clue also include perimenopause modes and have very large user bases, but they are built around predicting regular cycles.

Which one fits you

Privacy: worth checking

Menopause data is sensitive health data. Before choosing, check the App Store "App Privacy" section: whether the app links data to your identity, uses it for tracking, or requires an account. Some apps need an account to work; some share data with partners or employers' programmes. MenoShift has no account and no servers — data stays on your phone — which also means there's no cloud sync, so you back up manually.

What MenoShift does differently

It is not a community, a fitness coach or a telehealth service — if that's what you need, the apps above are better fits.

See it in your own data.

MenoShift turns a 20-second daily check-in, your cycle and your Apple Watch nights into a plain explanation of the day — with the source. No account; nothing leaves your phone.

FAQ

Is there a free menopause tracker app?

Most apps, including MenoShift, have a free tier for basic tracking, with paid features such as detailed insights or reports.

Are menopause apps medical devices?

Generally no — they provide information and tracking, not diagnosis. Use them to bring better information to your clinician.

Do I need an app for perimenopause?

No, but a few weeks of consistent tracking makes patterns and treatment effects much easier to see, and makes appointments more productive.

Which menopause app works with Apple Watch?

Several read Apple Health. MenoShift reads sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, wrist temperature and menstruation to explain each day.
